Virtual Travel Group

Group Leader: Stephen Ashley - steve@u3a-llandrindod.org.uk

The Group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 10:30am, usually at Celf-o-Gwmpas (what was the Drama Centre by Trefonnen)

At each meeting a member takes us on a 'virtual journey' to an interesting place in the world.

Programme

In February Carole Bumford is taking us on a tour of the Outer Hebrides and Orkney. What do you mean you've never been to the North of Scotland?

In March we will travel around the old Soviet Union by bus. No, we are not mad; The Soviets were good at many things but one of the weird and wonderful things in which they truly excelled at were bus stops. Bring your bus pass!

In April, Baz Edmunds will take us to the inspiring National Arboretum in Staffordshire - so much more than trees.

Freshly back from his travels, Dave Osborne, in May, will treat us to a rough guide to Kerala in the south-west of India.

June will see Jane and Roger Malvern exploring Canada's Rocky Mountains and venturing into Alaska

You are very welcome to join us - no passport needed! And there are teas, coffees and biccies all the way!

We are always on the look-out for new destinations - they don't have to be exotic or far away, just interesting. Help is available for turning slides etc into presentations and we are a pretty relaxed bunch (do some come just for the range of teas and biscuits we offer?) and are very supportive of people who are not used to giving presentations. We use the U3a's own laptop and projector - again help is available.

Please contact the Group Leader for further information.
