Virtual Travel Group

Group Leader: Stephen Ashley -

The Group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 10:30am, usually at Celf-o-Gwmpas (what was the Drama Centre by Trefonnen)

At each meeting a member takes us on a 'virtual journey' to an interesting place in the world.

We have no meeting in July but are back living out of a suitcase in September when we will be visiting the wonderful Kruger National Park in South Africa with Dave Osborn.

In October we are being taken to a land of amazing contrasts - Oman, in the company of Sheila Roberts.

November sees jet off to the Falkland Isles with Paul Jayes who, with his wife, lived and worked in this remarkable environment.

We concentrate on friends, family and stocking up the calories in December and then off we go again in January for some winter sunshine in Cyprus with Clive Barrett.

So often we go to exotic locations and ignore the wonders nearer to home. So in February Carole Bumford is taking us on a tour of the Outer Hebrides and Orkney. What do you mean you've never been to the North of Scotland?

You are very welcome to join us - no passport needed! And there are teas, coffees and biccies all the way!

We are always on the look-out for new destinations - they don't have to be exotic or far away, just interesting. Help is available for turning slides etc into presentations and we are a pretty relaxed bunch (do some come just for the range of teas and biscuits we offer?) and are very supportive of people who are not used to giving presentations. We use the U3a's own laptop and projector - again help is available.

Please contact the Group Leader for further information.
